The visual identity of IN THE MAKING is built around a clear typographic system. Each of the nine participating schools is represented by a single letter, creating a modular graphic system that gives every institution its own visual identity while highlighting the collaborative nature of the exhibition. The letters function as abstract architectural forms and establish the foundation of the project’s visual language.

The system is complemented by a numerical layer, with each of the six research lines of the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 assigned its own number. Together, letters and numbers create a flexible visual language that provides orientation while establishing a strong and recognizable identity.

IN THE MAKING: Cartography of Catalan Architecture and Design Schools is an exhibition presented at La Capella del MACBA as part of Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture. The exhibition presents nine Catalan schools of architecture and design as spaces for research, exchange, and critical reflection on the global challenges that will be discussed during the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026.
